Like it. Kipper is Mikka which makes it slightly different and not a direct connection but an awesome one for you. As someone who likes to change people's names to something similar or come up with a connection I don't have an immediate one. She will get called Mick-ah at first by some people. It's a nice simple name that isn't spelled weird or sound like you were high when you made it up.
Potential nickname: Mik like Mick or Meesh. Nothing much there. Your hockey friends will call her Kipper.

We just liked it as a name.

Honestly, my first reaction was what? I immediately went Poser....and then thought of the nursery rhyme you note above which I link back to the plague. Likely not an issue for the younger generation though as there are many weirder names out there.
I had to look it up and it seems reasonably common for England. It really doesn't matter what any of us think though because you've named her already.
Potential nicknames: if the word is ever in with her generation then Poser other than that it already is a nickname. Maybe gets shortened to Pose. The good thing is other than the nursery rhyme there is no immediate taunting name that comes to mind.

You need to get him Silvertips gear.

Potential nickname: Rett/Rhett, Ev, Ever. "Everetty Bunny" but that's a stretch.
