Even half an hour in winter would have kids going to school in the dark. My son's school is later than most start times- and he was walking just before sunrise.

I suppose you could change school start times to be after sunrise. But then you'd have to adjust work start times, rush hour, transit times. So really changing a whole lot of stuff just for the few people who make a big deal about a 1 hour time change.

I also think DST is a good practice for traveling. If you can't handle a 1 hour change, going overseas may not be for you either.
