Gio and Brodie have been fantastic, that's true.
However, why ignore:
-Monahan's 23 goals have him tied for 11th in NHL goal scoring
-Johnny Hockey is 2nd in NHL rookie scoring
-PP% and PK% are mediocre (18th) but better than 11 other teams
-16th in GF, and 14th in GA are also middle-of-the-pack, which by definition would be 'not-bad'
-Goalies have an average save percentage in the .915-.920 range, which puts them in the top half to third of the league
They're not Anaheim or St.Louis yet, but he actually implies they're barely ahead of Buffalo. Even Oiler/Canuck fans would think twice about trying to make that argument.
