I'm in the camp that says most of us have absolutely no idea how big and complex planning something like this is. I'm perfectly fine with them taking the time and doing it right. I also believe that KK - a guy who I have absolutely no time for - is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to talking about this stuff. I don't think he seeks out a venue to talk about a new arena but I'm sure he gets asked all the time.
I think what we'll see will probably blow our socks off. I'd much rather that than slap dash plan that satisfies our desire for quick easy fixes.

He gets asked about it because he talks about it.
It is continually said that the Flames want to do it right and are waiting to have all their ducks in a row. Wouldn't some of these ducks have to be a location and anything that would be required of the City?
Does anyone expect that the Flames will come out and say here its is, this is how we'll build it and this is the plan to pay for it. If they do, great, good job, and the silence totally makes sense. If they come out and say here it is, help us pay for X, Y, Z because that's what Edmonton got they will be grilled by citizens and the City. We may not even see plans after the Mayor is "briefed" if there is any public money required for anything like infrastructure outside of what is currently funded.
The plan may blow our socks off but without knowing the specifics of how and where, I can't have any confidence in the plan other then they paid some people to draw up some really cool ideas.
