I find it kind of telling that outside of Calgary, this trade barely created any discussion. It's not like we traded the next Stamkos. Baertschi seems to be regarded as a project at this point by pretty much everyone. Even most Vancouver fans while favourable of the trade, seem to be acknowledging that it is anything but a sure thing. Their management is obviously doing everything they can to pump him up (as they should), but just the fact that they need to says a lot about him.

Don't get me wrong, I am a little uneasy about the potential for it to backfire. Even though put the chances of Baertschi being an effective NHL player at less than 50%, this one would hurt if it backfires.
