What a strange day. As I read the comments of those that are happy with the day's events, and those who are disappointed, I can honestly say that I agree, at least in part, with both opinions. I don't think there was any clear way for the Flames to win this day. Could they have stayed the rebuild course and significantly bolstered the present lineup? I don't think that was possible. What I think they did was manage the day, conservatively in the case of staying the rebuild course, with a dash of waiver-wire present line-up help, and on the riskier front they moved Sven to a rival. I don't know, I like how Treliving handled the day as I don't see that a perfect day of trading was possible. He managed the circumstances well.
