A good recap of a tough day. Flames had their backs against the wall, and managed to not get mugged. That's good.
Picks mean nothing to me. I want to be ready to win in 2 years, not 5 when those picks will be relevant (if they become relevant). It's my hope that Treliving can flip some of those picks to a team that is entering a rebuild this off season.
One less contract today than we had yesterday. That's good flexibility. It leads me to believe Treliving has lots of hopes to sign some picks in the summer. I expect Gillies to turn pro and Jankowski is possible too.
Flames have to take the next step and nothing they did today makes them a better scoring threat or helps galvanize the team.
Silver lining to Giordano being out is an extended look at Wotherspoon and/or Potter. We've needed to push and-man up the ranks, hopefully Wotherspoon can climb with the chance he'll likely be given.
