The Lightning got their entire 2nd line (if you can even call it that anymore) in the 2011 draft. Besides Kucherov, they got Palat at like pick 210 and Johnson as a UDFA.

This is why accumulating picks is never a bad idea. Players work out or don't for a variety of reasons. Having more tries at finding them is wise planning. And guys who don't get drafted like Giordano or Johnson can also be found as well with good scouting.
