It's disappointing to see Baertschi traded to Vancouver. But as mentioned in the piece when you consider that he didn't really want to stay with the organization and that he would be waiver eligible next year, it is apparent that it was time for action. Treliving acted on the situation and got something done. That I'm happy with.
Beating a dead horse...a previous GM failed to act on Marc Savard and eventually had nothing to show for an asset that once held value. The Flames come out of this deadline with 3 additional picks between spots 50-80 which is better than they did last year when they should have been selling.
