Sometimes you have the world by the tail and you don't know it. If the things I asked you are important to you, there is no reason to move. Money comes and goes, but a good home where you feel grounded, a community that you honestly love, and friends that would lay down for you, and you the same for them, are things that money can never buy.

LOL! This makes your Edmonton bashing even more ironic, considering you YOURSELF ''bolted'' to the US.
Guess you weren't happy in Calgary hey? Just like Samsanov, Spacek, Peca and all the other guys you make false claims about.
Anyways, my opinion: You can never be afraid of change. While Calgary and Edmonton have both been great cities for me, I want to see the world. I want to live in a big city. I want to spend a year or two in the Carribean, earning 100,000 tax free. I want to give Austrailia or Toyko a chance.
You can't progress in your own life if you look at what your friends scenarios are. Everyone goes their own directions after marriage. Do you really think friends would stay in a certain city just for you? Enjoy challenges in life.
If it's a well paying job, and it's freaking close to New York City, why not give it a try? Don't like it, you can always move back. If you pass this opportunity, you perhaps will later regret not taking the chance.
