I almost shed a tear when Ronnie James Dio died, I actually did over this one.

I would religiously try and catch syndicated episodes Star Trek on CBC in the late 70's early 80's as a kid, and was absolutely fascinated by Spock. As I grew older, and started understanding the show for the incredible story telling instead of the 'cool space thingies' I became a loyal, lifelong fan.

I always viewed Spock and Kirk almost as one character. Spock was always like the little voice of reason on Kirk's shoulder guiding him to do the right thing, and Kirk was always trying to push Spock to let loose, make the illogical decision and live a little. Ying and Yang. I always viewed is as a co-command, Spock bailed Kirk out so many times, and Kirk would do idiotically irrational things, to save Spock. Probably the most iconic character duo of all time.

He certainly lived long and prospered. RIP Mr. Nimoy.
