As I said in the game story I think Kypreos or his sources just have it slightly wrong. The fact that there is chatter around the two players means something, but I don't see Calgary needed to move salary, nor do I see them pushing hard to move those players out.

But we do have Arizona following the Flames around on this trip.
Plus Maloney saying he'd like to retain contracts in trades because they have trouble signing players.
So maybe a larger Calgary/Arizona deal has included some veteran players on term contracts chatter and that's where the smoke is coming from.
