Halfway through the overtime period, Nick Saracino (St. Louis, Mo.) had a great chance but Mastalerz made a blocker save. Then the Friars appeared to score at 3:21 of overtime when Mark Jankowski (Dundas, Ontario) crashed the net and forced the puck over the goal line. The play was called a goal on the ice, but after review it was deemed that contact was made with Mastalerz before puck crossed the line.
