This is a problem that every one of the teams in the playoff hunt is facing. I think something that is likely to help the Flames is also the fact that the other three PacDiv teams in the mix have quite a few remaining games against one another: SJ and Van each play 5, and LA plays 6. There are guaranteed losses to go along with guaranteed wins for all of those teams—only one team can run the table, which puts the other two in a precarious position, and is good for the Flames. If they all end up fairly square against one another, then that is also good for the Flames, as it eases some pressure on them to maintain a high winning percentage. If one team falters, then it is very likely that the Flames are in by default.
Minnesota and Winnipeg also both face a fairly tall order, having lots of remaining games against the top four in the West (6 for the Jets; 8 for the Wild), and Winnipeg especially also has 6 remaining games against PacDiv teams, with whom they have struggled ALOT.
