For me it is the music more than anything. They do a great job of picking a period song that fits with the story.
Last night's episode was a bit blah, but using Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is" at the end redeemed the episode for me.
That's also a reason I'm a sucker for a bunch of Adam Sandler movies - the 80s music triggering nostalgia.
