Yeah, I saw your other comment. I wasn't pointing at you with my response there, which is why I was using the collective we. I just find it funny how hockey fans both want and hate uniqueness. I even include myself in that list... I still think a Lightning player should gave gone Hunter-on-Turgeon on Ovechkin when he did his "stick on fire" taunt back in the day.
As far as coming out in public goes, it was an honest answer to a direct question. And it is only a footnote in an interview that is being disproportionately dissected when the important information to come out of that interview is the fact that it is the team that has decided Glencross is replaceable.
