But this is all why we lie to oursleves when we say we want more open answers from players. What we really want is to maintain the illusion that 23 players in a locker room all think the same way, act the same way and are all happy little soldier bees. We want to remain in ignorance, so much so that when a guy shows the slightest hint of independent thought, people lose their minds.

Well then look at the comment I made in Bingo's thread if he should play or sit tonight as I'm pretty sure that his teammates knew the situation a long time ago. My issue is that as you say 23 players may feel the same way but only one guy is coming out in public rather than keeping it inside. At the end of the day being a good teammate is more important than being a good media quote.
