If the price isn't right, and he's quit on the team (and I'm not saying that either of these conditions are in place, let alone both), I'd rather scratch him than send him to the competition.

In a standard trade deadline scenario the player has no on-ice value to the selling team. That's why the "would you want the Flames to pay a first for a Glencross?" analogies don't really hold for me. Giving up a lot to a team for something that's worth nothing to them is what makes a lot of rentals rip-offs. That doesn't apply for the Flames and Glencross, because we can actually use him, and we don't want to play against him.

In that context, I don't like trading him for a 2nd-round pick. Rather have him around, or at least out of the way.
