Yes and no? Taking a bad contract and sending Glencross back with retained salary as Handgroen noted above, that helps a GM to buy a lot of time, no? It's short term plug with long term cap relief. Treliving could sell it that way. Based on Glencross' list, I could probably believe that if Treliving changed the angle, he could probably get a reasonable offer from all the teams on the list either by saying cap dump plus short term stopgap or rental for depth in the playoffs.

That, and Treliving isn't desperate to move Glencross means that he likely will not take a lowball offer for him? This part is more important because it theoretically allows him to walk to the table in a position of power.

Purely guessing from me, but it makes me feel better there are many more options for Glencross this year than Cammellari last year.
