Yeah, my DH is a bit of a slug out in K-country, which is why I was looking for something in the 5" rear travel range, that didn't weight the same as a small car. I've heard the Blur has really good geometry on it as well, which reduces pedal bob and allows for a little more travel in the rear.

You'll have a blast going from something like that to a full DH bike though. I have a buddy whose progresssion skyrocketed after dumping his blizzard in favour of a Kona Stab (8" rear 10" front). He was used to having to land absolutely perfectly to avoid getting a seat post up the arse, and with a longer travel bike the big drops were that much easier.

You should check out COP if you get into the freeriding, they have 2 full time builders that have done an amazing job this year with the park. It's not as long as Whistler, but it's still pretty technical and fun to ride.
