A. Yes, long term success like building a cup contender is IMO, far more important than squeaking into the POs, which was Calgary's pattern for quite a while. It's nothing like Edmonton, where they rush players, and don't win at all.
B. It's actually more like Edmonton to lose them for nothing. Like they did with Glencross - they should have traded him if they weren't going to re-sign him.
C. Neither Glencross nor Ramo will make or break the Flames' chances of making the playoffs. Ramo has played only one full game in the last, what - month and a half? Glencross has been injured a lot and moved down the lineup.
I like both players just fine, it's not about wanting them gone because I hate them. I just think the team is better served by getting assets (not just picks either - Glencross could get a prospect).
