I'm on a Klein Palamino XX - sweet, but probably not what you are looking for. I'd probably go with the Kona as well for what you're using it for and price range wise. Alternatively, you could probably pick up something used a little upscale from places like pinkbike's forum, bow cycle's forum, etc.
