I bought industrial clippers that a barber would use from a salon supply store. You have to be a licensed hairstylist to shop there, though. So I made up some business cards that said "Sliver's Salon" and gave those to the cashier saying I forgot my stylist ID. She called a manager and they fataing kicked me out of the store saying it was "illegal" for them to sell to me. Yeah, I'm sure.
There was another supply store down the street that sold to me, but they were hesitant to do so. I think the concern is you'd be starting a basement salon and they want to discourage that in their industry, which I get. But I was just a bald dude tired of the crappy clippers you can get at Shopper's and wanted something better. Very happy I stuck to my guns though as my clippers are sweet.

This is an awesome story.
Another option, in case your sweet clippers every go south on you, is to buy dog clippers. Not kidding at all. I know dogs aren't really your cup of pet, but it's the same thing, and you can buy industrial dog-grooming clippers at places like PetSmart.
I've used dog clippers for years on my beard, and if shaving my head was my cup of hair-do, I'd use them up top too.
