Glad Ramo gets the start - was really happy the boys got the win for him as it can only help confidence....not easy stepping in against the nucks after sitting for so long. I felt both goals were soft as the second was terrible rebound control but we got the win and I expect him to be real sharp for the next game.
Glencross can be effective on the top 2 lines with top line players. Unfortuinatley, Bouma Jones and Backlund have elevated their game and shown incredible chemistry. Not only are they keeping other top lines in check, they spend quite a bit of time in the O zone. Huds, Johny and Mony will be on the same line for a very long time with the chemistry they show. All that said, I do find Glencross useless on the bottom 2 pairings - whoever said he has been one of the most physical forwards... I must be watching a different game. There is a difference between a Jones, Bouma, Wolf and Byron type hit where they try to go through the player vs ill just bump you after you dish the puck to tally a hit. I personally think this was the reason Joe saw limited ice 2 games ago and came out throwing the body lastnight.... Hartley knows he is a big strong kid and wants to see him use it to his advantage. This doesn't mean that you need to fight which a young kid like Joe may have mistaken it for last night.
Our best games this year have been against big teams known to throw the body and we come out and catch them off guard with the willingness to throw it right back. Bouma always seems to spark the guys early and I wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Glencross with the A next year.
