I know some ST holders will not be happy. But I believe the whole reason WV has been on the top of the list is A. It's prime real-estate. B. it's going to be a district where they want you to goto and stick around and spend money. Wrong or Right, you're going to be arriving early or staying later before going home, to avoid some of the traffic congestion and therefore have dinner, shop in the area, etc. I live near Bearspaw and getting to the dome is a nightmare for me. But like the Dome there are options to get around it.
For example, when they build the pedestrian bridge across the river (as I assume they will) you can park in Sunnyside and walk across the bridge. Park at the Sunnyside station and take a bus 3 stops and walk across the bridge.
Drive downtown park anywhere and jump on the LRT or catch a bus and walk.
I'm also sure that along 10th ave 11th, 12th etc. There will be parking lots that will pop up from property owners just like around the dome. You can walk a few blocks.
I assume however that part of the city involvement if any will be on infrastructure adjustment: 14th and bow trail realignment probably being key.
As for the Stamps Flames playing at the same time. If they have the buildings in the same area I assume they'll just submit their schedules better and it won't be a problem (they are not that stupid). At worst case scenario i can't see it happening more than 1x per year. Unless they do a arena/stadium combo facility in which case they'd have to accommodate the space schedule with the NHL and CFL regardless. If the Lions and Canucks can do it. We can too.
So really a non issue.
