No way to really assess the trade right now. Alot of different dynamics at work.
Bogo's an interesting guy. Big time injury issues, early in his career, he could be permanently derailed. Likely to be as well. Still how many 24 year old defencemen have over 393 games of experience, even with all the injuries? He's the real x factor in this deal, if emerges then its clear Buffalo win.
If Kane stays healthy then he's likely the next Cam Neely in that he's a big tough goal scorer that just needed a change of scenery. He'll be parachuted into in a young and highly skilled roster and given oodles of primo minutes. Everything is set for him there to turn around into a 30-40 goal scorer. I think he'll do it.
Myers, I'm pretty meh on him, he's a legit defenceman and he'll be surrounded by a much better defensive unit. He'll likely bump Buff to forward and a Myers/Trouba combo could be good.
After that, too early to really tell about the other assets. Chevy did well under the circumstances that he basically had to trade Kane. Buffalo did well to get a top line player to immediately compliment an elite center that they'll draft.
To say that this is Buffalo tanking is just frankly brain dead. They have acquired an asset that could make them a powerhouse over the next 5 years. But because they gave up Drew Freaking Stafford without a replacement when they're already dead last in talent and ability and destined for a top two pick - now they're a disgrace to the game? Stupefying. Literally. I'm more stupid having read that.
