it's funny, i think the sabres gave up a lot, but at the same time, i don't think it's a 'bad deal' for them.
they get a solid young winger who needed to get out of his situation, and a big, top4 dman already at the age of 24. the fact that kane is getting surgery, is even better as it allows them to continue their journey to mcdavid/eichal.
I like the move for the sabres. They have TONS of assets, like it's unreal. Instead of waiting till the youth start contributing and then spending assets, they are already looking at improving as early as next year by bringing in NHL players of value with those assets today.
