I think it will be the opposite.
Prentice cut the cabinet's pay by 5% recently. The savings to the province will be insignificant. Klein did the same thing back in the day. He then cut the wages of all provincial employees (including teachers, etc.) by 5% as well. I would be shocked if Prentice doesn't do the same thing, but I don't think it will be announced until after the election. If he gets a strong majority (and he will), he will have 4 years for the oil revenues to rebound. This would allow him to reinstate the wages back to current levels.
