I don't see how this is straight out of the Liberal play book as Resolute puts it, but whatever. She should have to sit as an independent until the next election and then try her luck as a Liberal if she wants at that point.

she's no big loss to the conservatives and that press conference was just incredibly awkward with the whole Harper is a big meanie stuff coming across as sour grapes desperation by her to stay relevant.
She's the wrong kind of focus for the Liberals to throw a press conference with.
