Patrick Kane did far worse than what Evander is alleged to do and he's now the face of the league in the US
Tyler Seguin did much of the same type of things in Boston, and is now thriving in Dallas after having been given away for cheap
so ya I wouldn't mind the Canucks picking up a 22 year old proven (at the very least) 20-25 goal scorer whose value is likely as low as it's ever going to be

Patrick Kane did worse things to a cabby while drunk, but did the right thing and apologized to his teammates, who like him.
Seguin partied too much, but didn't show of to the team or constantly make distractions. Not the same. Evander keeps pressing the issue in purpose.
They're not the same. One is a much worse teammate than the other two.
