  3. Canadian Tire Centre is a fantastic arena, with relatively easy highway access. After seeing a Sens game there two weeks ago I was amazed how much easier it was to get to and from the rink than 10 years ago
  4. There's no highway (so I'm told) that will allow mass traffic in and out of the downtown core easily. Meaning the infrastructre isn't there for a 18-20,000 seat arena (again so I'm told I don't actually know)

That said, I'd be ok with Ottawa getting a new rink downtown, as Kanata is way out there. On the other hand, friends of mine live near the rink in Kanata and their land values would likely drop, so yeah, sucks for them.

With respect to point 4, I'm pretty sure much more than 20,000 work in the downtown area of Ottawa and commute to work every day of the week so I don't think getting out of downtown after an evening game would be a concern.
