Default The Ongoing JonDuke Needs Help Thread

Noob time. I have lots of questions and requests for advice. I've had some amazing help thus far with GMs reaching out with advice and tips on what to do with my team, and I am very appreciative of that. But instead of harassing GMs with constant messages on GoogleTalk, I figured I would start a thread for help.

I'm super new to this whole thing, and the learning process is taking its time. I wish I could buy one of you drinks at a pub so I could just bring my laptop, and physically see the advice/day to day moves on my screen, but am out of town every other week, so that's not super easy.
The finances/behind the scenes is where I need to learn the most.

First set of questions:

I am currently over the cap by .96 million.
Where I am clearly rebuilding, should I be looking at trading someone like 35 year old Brian Campbell? High contract, but a decent D who could be a nice addition to a playoff bound team with cap space. Then I could clear up some cap space and sign some young kids and hope for the best.

What are other viable options to get under the cap?

I have no 1st round pick for the upcoming year, and am guessing I should be trying to gain one, through some sort of trade, right?

I think I'm happy with Elliot in net, but should I be moving Dubnyk, and giving the back up to Wegewood or Forsberg instead? (and saving more money)

Salary question:

For the above pic, let's use Lapierre for the example:
He's making $3 million/year, right? (as opposed to 3 million over 2 years)
And what does the 10% mean beside his salary? (and the 25% beside Zubrus)
Lapierre's contract is for 2 years. Does that mean 2 more years after this season, or including this season?

When I send a player down to the farm, is their full salary still counting against my CPHL team, or does it go to the farm team?

Very clueless, I know, but it'll come to me eventually. I think that's it for now. There will no doubt be more questions coming. Hence the thread.
