Back, in response to some things:

-Wilson will get paid. He's done too much in first 3 years not to, even if the defense has helped him a lot. Plus he's a squeaky clean role model.

-Lynch should too. Lynch has outperformed his contact too, and still doesn't get enough credit for the tangibles and intangibles he brings, (he would've been the SB MVP tonight if he gained that half yard) but like Shawn Alexander and his sudden drop off years ago Seattle has to tread carefully with term.

-Wagner will too. Wagner locked up and defense will be ok for at least another year at least. Will lose the defensive coordinator to Atlanta.

-Window is tight in the NFL, Schneider and Carroll have done exceptional, and although some will get paid, undrafted guys like all of the WRs, will be brought in and will step up... in addition to the draft. But always tough and a lot of things to go a teams way in the NFL to get to win a division and then take the next steps to win in the playoffs and get inches from a SB. There are teams that haven't won a playoff game in 20 years, so can never take success for granted no matter how prepared.

-Best hockey analogy would be if the a team put 3 defenseman and three forwards in the ice when pulling the goalie with 30 seconds to go when down by a goal in the Finals, after having just had all sorts of zone pressure and having all the momentum, while a forward who has 3 goals in the game sits on the bench.

-The Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrel Bevell said after the game that he called the last play (and calls all the plays) , and alluded to the theory I had about throwing on that down to be saving the last time out (as I said, they should be had 2 still). No explanation of why that route, not a back cover end zone throw. He also took the class route and through a player under the bus (Lockette) for not making the play. He needs to go.
