But he plays on the right side, so who's spot would he take? Jones I guess? And there is zero chance I'd move Colborne out to make room for Stewart, Colborne is still a young guy who is a big body that can play wing or center, he's a pretty valuable piece right now.
That being said, I had no idea Stewart was making 4.1 this season, that kind of surprises me. He's a UFA after the season so the asking price shouldn't be too high. If the Flames phone around and do some due diligence and find out the character issues with him are overblown I'm warming up to the idea of trading for him. The Flames can use a RW, and they can also use a big body who can hang in the slot on the PP and score some goals. If they bring him in and he flops you sit him and let him go in the offseason. Looks like a low risk/high reward player to me, as long as there isn't a negative impact to the team in regards to his character/chemistry off ice.
