So much bridge hate in this city. It's weird. I think it'd be cool if Calgary developed some kind of bridge fetish, where companies or community associations would sponsor pedestrian bridges all over the city, and they'd try to one up the last one built.
Rome has fountains, Edmonton has mullets, Calgary could have bridges.
I'm only half kidding. Nothing turns me off more about walking than having to cross a big f-off street like MacLeod, or Shaganappi. Frankly, I'd rather drive, even if I live in this community, and I just want to go to that mall just across there, but if I have to walk up along a sidewalk that's just a few feet from cars going 60-80, then stand at a corner, while hundreds of cars wizz by, then scurry across the 6 lane street quickly before the light turns, or to get out of the way of people trying to turn left, I'll just drive, TYVM.
