I agree with the context of hatred running within the culture rather than religion. In fact, Muslim religious leaders in Canada are calling for peaceful solutions, at least publicly they do (I am not sure what they are calling for during religious services and, more importantly, during private gatherings). It is the Muslim culture worldwide that is getting increasingly antagonized and hateful towards the Western world and, generally, towards anything not Muslim. Heck, they are even turning on their own, if their own is not Muslim enough!

The impact of the ancient Persian/Egyptian/Arabic culture and the early Muslim culture on the world culture has been generally significant and important (medicine, literature, philosophy, trade etc.). But can anyone today make a convincing statement that the impact of modern Muslim culture on the world culture has been mostly positive? I certainly cannot.
