You continue drafting with your own picks and trust in your scouting to keep the farm filled with guys who can replace eventual pending free agents like Jones etc. You continue to consider any trades where you're swapping depth for legit top line talent. It's still a rebuild, so we don't quite know just what ceilings we have for guys like Colborne, or what Floors you have for guys like Poirier. All you know is that they're good assets to have and you're better off just being patient and steady. Even if this year or next year the team doesn't make the playoffs. We're in a really good position right now because we let guys like Cammalleri walk, we got rid of guys like Tanguay and even Boowmeester. Flames committed to a genuine rebuild.
Think for a second that you're swapping Boowmeester for Mike Richards when you talk about our current cap space. I just cringed.
