There are more than two ways (being the "Oiler method" and the "Red Wings" method) to develop prospects. Furthermore, sending Sam Bennett to Kingston is not, by fiat of your "directness", the "Red Wings method" and keeping him up is not, by fiat of your "directness", the "Oiler method".
There's a nuanced discussion here. You should consider taking part in it.
