Yeah that seemed to be the case when he re-upped a few years ago, but GlenX's contract is up soon, he's getting older, and he hasn't had contract talks with the Flames recently. What makes you think he wouldn't consider waiving for the defending champs, of all teams? He can't expect his home province team to keep him on as their top left-winger that much longer with even more new talent entering the fold over the next season or two. It's a nice convenience for him, but one he can't expect to last.
This game is a business, and sometimes that doesn't align with someone preferences. I'm sure Glencross knows that fully.

Yes LA won the cup last year but why would Glencross waive to go there right now? Hoping the squeak in and then go on another miraculous run?
Glencross holds ALL the cards. He either picks his destination or stays with the Flames and revisits his options in the summer. Why would he be a rental on a bubble team that has no way of re-signing him. If he is going to be a hired gun why not go to a better team like Anaheim, Pitt, or Tampa?
