L.A. should really be looking at a mini-reset, sort of what Chicago had to do.
Kings are getting older and key players are wearing down due to the style of play.
They should really look at just moving Williams, Stoll, and Regehr at the deadline in order to see what type of youth they could get back.
Lots of long term contracts for veterans already and extending those three will just add to the issue.
8 years left for Quick
7 years for Dustin Brown
7 Years for Carter
6 years for Gaborik
5 years for Richards
The numbers looked good when they signed, but Brown, Richards and Gaborik already appear to be on the downturn.
The backend is pretty good long term with Doughty, Muzzin, and Martinez signed long term at good rates (Voynov too but his status is up in the air of course). Plus they still have a good forward group with Kopitar, Toffoli, Pearson, and Carter alone. If they play the next 6 months smartly and don't create long term pain for another chance this year they will be fine.
