The other thing is the Flames will need to stay above the cap floor. Our younger players are a few years away from getting bigger contracts, and going by what Brodie was resigned for, they won't get $7 million dollar deals. If the cap goes up, the contract wouldn't be so bad.
Just don't think he's as bad as people think he is. Sure, he's playing terrible hockey and looks like a shell of his former self, but that is probably what you get from the type of hockey LA has played the past few years. Brown and Kopitar look beat up too. Only a guy like Doughty, who is younger, looks like he still has something left in the tank right now.
