Denmark has the second tallest average man's height at 6'0" behind only the Netherlands (6'0.25"):
http://www.averageheight.co/average-...ght-by-country. So, you would have been a shorty there, or at least about average, which can still be off-putting if you're used to towering over people.
On the flip side of that, I was really surprised by how short most people in New York City are.
