My theory is that this is a perfect time for Ortio to stay with the team, with the trainers, with the goalie coach. He played awesome in four NHL games, got lit up and pulled in the 5th (tho it wasn't his fault). Now he can regroup, watch a ton of video, practice, work out, rest. While being around the Flames.
Either way if they end up keeping him up for another test after the ASG, or sending him down before the next game, I think this is a good decision. Plus I'm sure he appreciates the pay bump. The AHL ASG takes a back seat here.
