Yes I have been to Vegas many times and yes I have gotten a variety of comped items. But everything relates back to the hotel/hotel group in some way.
Sending someone to a hockey game for 3 hours where they will be spending money on booze and food is not in a Casino/Hotel's best interests in recouping the cost of a comp'ed room or show tickets etc.

I'm sure the hotels/hotel groups will have an interest in the team/venue and as such will benefit on dollars spent there.
