That said, there's no doubt that the beach was one of Alberta's great little destinations, one of the few true beaches in Alberta, and a big draw for the community.
I wouldn't be opposed to the province kicking in to see it restored. Lots of good (and a couple great) memories there, and current/future generations could benefit from it.

Yeah I guess I am closer to your 60/40 split.
The town gains a lot from the lake/beach, but the beach/lake isn't the town's responsibility.
I can't really think of another situation that is the same.
