Yes I get frustrated that he doesn't bury his breakaways but at least he gets them. He's also a great PK guy. He still contributes, not just getting points. Guys like him softens up the opposition defense by having them not get overly aggressive which creates more room for other players on his line.
I agree with you. If he actually was worse and didn't create opportunities, people wouldn't be upset at the lack of finish, they'd just be happy with what he brings.

That said, I do think Byron is an expendible part on this team. A bottom 6 player, who provides energy and speed. Thing being, I think the Flames have a lot of depth that is proving they are at least good enough to play bottom 6 in the system, and as a whole we are a pretty fast club, but also a small one.

Given I think the Flames have good speed through the line up, and unfortunately have some very key pieces who are small (Gaudreau and Hudler), I'm inclined to say they should part with Byron (get something back in return) and replace him with a larger body who can also play in the bottom 6.
