Given their playoff standing (this wouldn't be an issue if they were in 25th spot), I think you have to put the best team forward. If Ortio forces your hand it gets forced.

I agree that the prospects should be able to see you can push your way onto the team if you outplay the veterans but it's different for goaltenders, and this isn't a big enough window.
I'm not sure that Ortio is going to be better than Ramo or Hiller long-term. It's very hard to project. You need a bigger NHL-level sample size to really know for sure. Having said that I think he gets his shot next year for sure so Ramo's days look like they're numbered.
In the meantime I would start Ortio as long as he stays hot and keep him up here for at least another week. Adriondack only has one game over two weeks anyway.
