So I flashed back to CM and installed 12. It seems to be running really smooth so far with no noticeable issues albeit I have only been running it for a day.
I was running Mahdi ROM which was based on 4.4.4. New CM12 nightlies bump it up to 5.0.2. i touch base in a week or so and see where we are at with it then.
