Against the Canucks the Flames were sloppy and afraid to make a mistake the whole night. Tonight they started much the same way, but as the game went along and Ortio continued to make save after save you could see their confidence come back and by the third the Coyotes didn't have a chance, Flames had everything under control in all 3 zones. It cannot be overstated how important solid goaltending is, a piss poor display like Hiller had against Florida can screw with the rest of team for several games after
IMO they should ride Ortio until the trade deadline and figure out exactly what they have. If he struggles a bit with more workload, then send him back down and develop his game with a good chunk of NHL experience under his belt. But if he stays solid, I think Treliving has to look at trade opportunities for Hiller. If he can get between a 2nd and 4th rounder depending on how desperate some teams might be that would be a pretty good steal for a guy we got for free
