Obviously not a centre, but the comments about Crosby and Datsyuk going wide made me think of Gaudreau. He has that ability to take the puck outside the defender into the offensive zone and make things happen. A couple examples are that Wideman goal from earlier in the year where he put it in out of the air after Gaudreau rifled a pass just a few inches off the ice to his tape in front and the hat trick goal against LA where he used his backhand and it went in off the defender's skate. I think he has the same sense as Crosby and players like the Sedins where they throw the puck into areas where they know it is dangerous and hard to deal with when there isn't necessarily a scoring opportunity. A lot of it is putting the puck at enough pace to get bounces that are trouble for the defence and goalie.
